There is a grocery store that is a block from our school so we often stop there for snacks and drinks before we go to the beach or between classes. They have similar things as a Kroger or Meijer but much smaller. There is a very big seafood section with fish just laying on ice waiting to be bought. The meat department has huge pieces of pig hanging in hooks. The eggs and milk are not kept cold at the store, they are on a normal shelf. Beverages come in packs of six eight or twelve but if you only want one of them it is totally ok to break open the pack and just take one. Leaving the remainder of the opened package on the shelf. This us convenient when want just one of something.
At one store the cashier asked us if we wanted a bag, we said sure! She scanned the plastic bag and charged us for the bag! That was the last time we got a bag! It is sometimes hard to judge if something is a good price or not because we do not know the value of a euro and even if it is five of six euro we still pay in change so seems like nothing for us. We have to watch our spending!
The milk in cartons just on on the shelf.
A pack of cans that is just left for other people to take.
The packages of water left half full.
