Today we rode on a ferry! It reminded me of ATC and Mackinac. I miss the island a ton! Working on the island was so much fun, I am so glad for the experience. It's weird that people here don't know what Mackinac Island is.
The group headed out from Wilmington, VA and headed south at about 6:15. We got on the 6:55 ferry in Jamestown. It is a free car, bike and people ferry that goes across a river coming from the Chesapeake Bay. We landed near Surry I believe and started riding again.
Today I rode with Alyssa most of the day. We rode with Allen and Christian for a while when we were strong enough to keep up.
After leaving the last rest stop Alyssa got a flat tire. We used my CO2 cartridge to pump up her tire and even topped off Alex's tire too. After that we drafted off of Tom and Alex for an east ride to the church.
We had wonderful pasta tonight made by the Reverend at this church, so many veggies in it! Thy treated us toto cake an strawberry ice cream too.
After a short presentation and visiting with the congregation we are all settled in to evening activities and chores. I like using this time to organize my bag, read, journal/ blog, annoy Allen, sleep and/or hang out with my new friends!
Tonight we are staying in Ahoskie, NC. I took a picture with the welcome sign "Look 'Ahoxsie!!'" hahah get it;)
Miles today: 87!
